As a part of our “My God Encounter” campaign, which launched at UCF last month (see post: University Encounters Christ), we have a 15 second testimony ad that is running all month long at Waterford lakes theater in east Orlando. The ad is a part of the pre-movie entertainment package which starts approximately 20 minutes before the feature film begins. The ad runs on all 19 screens every single time any movie is shown and once every 25 minutes in the theatre lobby on the big plasmas. We are “making known the wonderful works of Almighty God!”.

Evoke Ministries’ “My God Encounter” advertising campaign will hit the UCF (University of Central Florida) campus in April. Its about real accounts of real people that have had an encounter with Jesus Christ and experienced the love and changing power of God in their lives. Our generation has many stories of personal encounters with the living Christ. We are making them known in the form of an advertising campaign.

The campaign begins in April and includes bus shelters, magazine ads, posters and flyers right on the campus itself! We hope to saturate the area around the campus as well. Our plan is to also display in movie theatres, inside buses, billboards and anywhere else commercial advertising is used, as finances will allow.

The University of Central Florida (UCF) is located in Orlando, Florida and is the fifth-largest university in the nation. 50,275 students enrolled in 2008, many out of state and foreign exchange. Besides the students that attend, many locals use the campus during concerts and football games.

What can I do?

You can support the spreading of the Gospel through public advertising. We have a hope the world needs to be told, and constantly reminded of.

The atheist buses are now on the streets, and the next stage is wider humanist campaigns. The British Humanist Association (BHA) has launched a campaign in the UK on buses and subways throughout London.

According to their own reports, the BHA seeks an end to the privileged position of religion – particularly Christianity – in law, education, broadcasting and all other areas. “We’re proud to call ourselves atheists, and we hope the Atheist Bus Campaign will encourage more atheists to come out“.

The Atheist Bus Campaign launched on Tuesday October 21 2008 with the initial fund raising target of £5500 which was surpassed in a matter of hours. The campaign has so far raised more than £135000 and is planning to launch many more campaigns.

The American Humanist Association has also begun Advertising.

A Campaign popped up during Christmas on Washington DC buses saying, “Why Believe in God?”. The trend of Humanist advertising is beginning to take off all throughout the country. Free Thought Action, a division of the AHA has launched a billboard campaign to unite Atheists by stating, “Don’t believe in God? You are Not Alone”. Their goal is to raise the public profile of atheists, agnostics, and humanists. The billboard is backed by an active web site at www.freethoughtaction.org that sets forth the larger mission of the effort and offers ways that individuals can get involved.

We must make known the Gospel!

Evoke ministries is publishing the Gospel! Long before the Atheist group at BHA and AHA began their campaigns we have been involved in creative advertisements, sharing the truth of the Gospel. Advertising is a wide open avenue for the message of Christ to enter the eye gates of all observers. Billions of dollars are spent on advertising every year. The reason why is, it works. Public advertising is like a street evangelist who never tires, sleeps, eats, or gets weary. The Gospel message is proclaimed around the clock, to all by-passers.

It is our goal to place Evangelistic advertisements everywhere and anywhere that commercial ads are seen. By producing Evangelistic Advertisements to be placed in newspapers, magazines, buses, movie theatres, bookstores, music shops, bars & clubs, billboards, art shows, and mailers; we are injecting the Gospel in and through this culture that they cannot escape the good news, love-message of our Savior.

What can I do?
