1 corinthians 6:14-15 “By His power GOD raised the Lord from the dead, and He will raise us also. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself?”
When I was raised from among the dead I was reidentified with Life. I no longer live by the standard of the dead that roam this Earth, but of the living who have everlasting life. A new creation means a new...

In August 2011 you’ll come to find a wall full of “why not?” blocks at our finale show. Here’s the “why not?” block testimony:
In July or August of last year the evoke visual artists had our monthly 365 meeting and GOD had His divine moment. We all happened to be on the same page. I remember we were getting to know one another and were sitting...

Cracked Pots
We possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel]
in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding
greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from
ourselves. -2 CORINTHIANS 4:7
God works through jars of clay, or what I...

Its january 13, 2011 and its the day I got a small portion of the emotions of GOD. Just tuesday in bible study Pastor Frank taught on grieving the Holy Spirit. My prayer tht night was to get a glimspe of how GOD feels. I want to know what he goes thru on a day to day in just my life alone. That night I felt very strongly to stop talking and just take in the seriousness of the...

As I sit here, I feel I need to write. It is 6am on a Saturday and I got up to paint, but a blog seems to be a priority. Last night, as I was painting, I got a call from a friend. She called to vent, but all I could hear was negativity. “I am tired of being a ‘good christian’ because it gets me no where!” Those words broke my heart.
You see, being a “good christian” is not...

I get this question so often that i felt the urgency to have an answer the next time this question is presented or to at least have evidence for the answer i have been giving. My answer has always been “No”. Now, keep in mind, this does not include people who have no choice but to stay home.
this is how GOD answered me: Is there such thing as a “stay at home” christian?...

As we read the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John we come by common stories that we have known since we were kids. So as we read through stories in the Bible such as “Jesus walks on water” we have to get out of the mind set of …”oh, I know what’s going to happen next” otherwise our pride will cause us to limit GOD in the things He...

contamination: to make impure or unsuitable by contact or mixture with something unclean, bad, etc.
contamination is the subject but the purpose of this painting is to find your sword. what do you use to fight being contaminated?
This month make a piece that represents or illustrates some kind of contamination that you battle daily. If you feel like doin more than one feel free. The LORD has...

It was given to me to chose the color this month for our three blocks and as much as I wanted to pick the color of the rainbow, I knew in my heart I need to seek Him first before any rash decisions.
Whereas, through intense prayer I felt the Lord put it on my heart to chose the three primary colors… Red, Blue and Yellow.
Like the Holy Trinity, the three Primary Colors are unique and can...

August 2nd we had a slight situation at home. All at one time we had two toilets leaking, tub not draining, bathroom floors flooding, toilets not working, the whole deal. After using up all the towels, trying to plunge the tub, then seeing dirt in the toilet we knew it wasn’t a simple task. This was not a simple problem that could be fixed in five minutes, nevertheless, it had to be...

Offense of the Word #2 7-18-10
In school I could remember always having bad self esteem because of the labels placed over my life. In this particular piece Im trying to illustrate the offense that baby christians feel when people of the world label them. We see so many kids who enter college, and in their first year become atheist (me included). Perhaps this is because we do not have a...

Offense of the Word – July Topic
Sorry I didn’t get this up earlier in the month. We will be more prompt for next month.
This topic was decided on because of a vision that Susan had while fasting for this event. She saw a child in the corner of a classroom with dunce hat on being punished for bringing his bible to school.
In the last few years here in America we have been witnessing...

So the struggle is how to portray the Offense of the Word…. maybe offense feels like a harsh word to use when pairing it with the Word of God because God’s word is about love. However, confrontations do happen when standing up for truth. In order to gain perspective I had to remember when I would feel an offense to the Word of God before I was a believer. Let us first examine the word...

Halfway through the first month and I have been struggling with the integrity of my worship. The push and pull of creating artwork for others and art worship. I watch the worshippers at my church on Sunday morning and I wonder how many of them struggle with performance and pure “David dancing naked and undignified” worship. This process has made me take off those things outside of my...

Some times when I think of Jesus suffering on the cross I smooth it down. The wounds become cute symmetrical holes that are pure platonic forms, and the thorns are lightly placed on his head like a halo.
Conversely the soldiers probably nailed them in the required area with no regard to appearance. Jesus hands most likely cringed and froze.
Claustrophobia could ensue, though he was hung out...

What is art worship? Art worship is forgetting about what’s wrong with you and remembering what’s right with God. It is like hitting the refresh button on your computer. Like all worship, art worship restores the joy of your salvation. It recalibrates your spirit. It renews your mind. And it enables you to find somtheing good to praise God about even when evertthing seems to be going...

This is what I’m wrestling with. I’m really enjoying the process of new mediums, new techniques, and interpreting the voice of God thru visions on a daily basis. HOWEVER! there is this thought that these will all be displayed. So I have the pressure of producing a finished product. If there were no public showing, the pressure would be off, or if there were much more time to work on...

July 5, 2010 Monday- Offense of the word #3
This month we are to think/ponder about: how we intrepret the offense of the word.
~Its funny thing, that it has been on my heart for the past couple of weeks about words. I’ve been internalizing the importance our words have in our lives. Its one thing to know that truth, and its another to live by that truth.
Like a queen bee our tongue...

Um… This is hard… I’m already behind but have been working on my first painting in years trying to make it the best it can be. Time to experiment and see what God does with it. Just to pick up a paint brush was a challenge and I look forward to see how God brings healing through this process.

In silence there is humility, patience, wisdom, understanding, revelation, power, authority, and voice. Likewise in GOD there is humility, patience, wisdom, understanding, revelation, power, authority, and voice. As I write this I feel His presence. The LORD is telling me to limit my words so im gonna keep this very simple. If silence is so similar to the Father then is it possible that...

Rust. Oh to say what I thought when I heard this was our color of the month. What a challenge and disappointment all at the same time. I work with bright, bold colors and as for rust? All I saw was old, tarnished, and drab. However after working with it tonight-I truly see it’s beauty.
And then, I am reminded of His gift of beauty.
I saw the color rust as something so damaged, worn and...

After trying in vain to find quotes for wood shops to cut the 6×6 in. wood pieces for us, 365 decided to invest in a table saw. Thank you to Evoke Ministries for sponsoring the equipment. So now, we are cutting our own wood. Everything is still on track for our first Prep meeting July 1st, where we will be distributing all 310 pieces of wood to the participating artists. We have decided to start PREP on June 21st. Why June 21? June 21 is the longest day of the year 2010. Also the word solstice in Latin is translated to “be still” which is a great way to hear Jesus speaking to us. Sometimes our plans on a launch date can be filled with so much activity that we forget to take the time to “be still” and really hear God and His purpose in our plans. Early...
