Art Witness

One of the main purposes of the 365 project is to interact with people and bring them the reality of Jesus Christ. We have begun to do this in an exciting new way! This month we purposed to prayerfully create art pieces or choose existing ones to bring with us to the mall. The goal was to to share the spiritual significance of the art block with a stranger and then give it to them.  It was a really cool time! There were a couple rejections but we endured in following the holy spirit to find the right people. We got to share the love message of the gospel and pray with a handful of people. Most were really taken back and honored to receive the creative gift which will continue to remind them of their need of the loving savior.

Scripture says, “You shall receive power when the holy spirit comes upon you and you will be my witnesses!” The power to be a witness is by the working of the holy spirit, but it doesn’t specifically state ‘how’ we will be his witnesses. We know we MUST preach the gospel, we MUST pray for the sick but as to how, where and when, that’s completely up to us. Some will do it at church, others door to door, or on street corners, some by way of film or music or paintings! The beautiful thing is that God has created us to express ourselves in so many different ways. There is no limit on how many different ways we can share the gospel however the urgency of today and the need for a clear, concise proclamation to a hurting and dying generation is non-negotiable. Jesus kept it simple for us, he said, “all the world, every creature, now go!”
